Woven Text
Woven Text is a stitched typographic installation created for The Threads That Bind Us exhibition. Curated by Barbara Brondi and Marco Raino, 11 designers were invited to create new original work in which “woven material” is clearly of fundamental importance, evoking a vision of how the practice of weaving fibres opens up to meaningful interpretations.

Woven Text is based on fragments of text that we see on screen in front of us every day: when we log out from an online account or when we forget a password. When turned into large scale layered text, these questions take on a whole new meaning. Each letter is created on a grid of 3 x 5 squares. Poster size A1 – 594 x 841 mm. Stitched onto Diacel Acetate 250 mic with cotton thread in Cyan, Magenta and Grey.

16 April – 30 June 2012, Plusdesign Gallery, Via Ventura 6, Lambrate Milano
