The Portrait Project
The Portrait Project is a set of 12 stitched portraits, all based on the same grid. Images are created by using different stitching methods and thread thicknesses. The grid consists of squares, crosses and diagonal lines. Each image is created by using some or all of the layers.

Special thanks to Ben, Charlene, Ciaran, Jill, Julie, Lucille, Maria, Paul, Piret, Rafa, Sarah and Stefanie for taking part in this project. Rafa's portrait designed after a photograph by Qian Shi.

All works 210 x 280 mm, stitched onto Heritage Woodfree Bookwhite 315 gsm with cotton thread in various colours.

Some process images are also on Flickr.
